Eleanor's African Violet
In the rural community where I live, age is not a barrier to friends. One can have friends of all ages, and so we do. One of the women here I consider my friend is Eleanor. Eleanor's African Violet is amazing, just like her. She is 90 years young and was a classmate of my mother's. Yes, she is my mother's friend first. Her children are my friends and so on down the line. Some of her great grandchildren will probably be friends with my grandchildren someday. You get the idea.
Fruitful Visit
So, awhile back while I was visiting Eleanor, she was commenting on how it was time to divide her African Violet that was becoming too crowded in its pot. I spoke up and said, "When you divide it, let me know. I'll come over and help you. I'd love to have one of the separated plants from it." Eleanor never did call. But her daughter delivered to me this beautiful African Violet in a bright red pot after Eleanor's plant had been divided. It's been sitting on my sink drain near the window ever since. Whenever I water or admire this plant, I think of Eleanor. Thanks, friend.
Eleanor's African Violet
I used my macro lens with an extension to get really close in these.Motion blur creates some artistic effects with these next three images. A macro lens was used to capture the fine details of Eleanor's African Violets. Edited with my new Purple Haze Lightroom preset. Soon to be available to you!
