Birds of Prey in January 2022
The new year arrived with so many birds in January 2022. When the weather becomes cold and foggy or rainy, getting out for landscape photography is a little more difficult. So, I look for other things to shoot. In the Sacramento Valley, we are in the heart of the Pacific Fly Zone, so there's an abundance of migrating waterfowl. There are also lots of birds of prey. And, flowers. There are even a few flowers for subjects.

White Tailed Kite
Flowers, Bare Trees, Merced River
Here are a few other subjects I photographed the third week of the new year, along with a view of the Merced River. Pincushion plant, camellia, hydrangea, walnut tree, red-tailed hawk, and the Merced River at Tunnel View, Yosemite.
More Birds of Prey
We happened to see four different Great Horned Owls on this morning. Unfortunately for us, they were all quite well obscured by branches. This red-tailed hawk was a little bolder in his visibility on this very foggy day. To see more images of birds I've photographed this month go to: So Many Birds. To see more animals that I've photographed, go to: Animals & Wildlife.
