Blooming Almond Orchards
If you are fortunate enough to live near an orchard of almond trees, you know what a treat it is when they are blooming. Every winter we wait in anticipation of the blooming almond orchards. They have the softest color and are mildly fragrant. Now is that time, and the blooms do not last very long. It's been a hard winter with all the rain and wind, but I found a day recently to photograph these beautiful trees. It was overcast and had been raining for days on the morning I went out. But, because the blooms last such a short time, I knew I had to make my move! Armed with my Canon 70-200L on my Mark IV, I set out to capture whatever I could in the orchard.Of course, all trees in bloom are really pretty to me. But blooming almond orchards are an amazing sight! The soft pink puffs seem to go on forever. Actually, the petals of the blossoms are white while the inner part is dark pink. Check them out.
Blooming Almond Orchards
You can see my posts about blooming almond trees from the past at Perspective and at Almond Blossoms. Photography Tip: When photographing landscape, be sure to capture the details whenever possible. The details help tell the story. Up close, these tree blossoms look very different from their appearance far away.
