Blueberry Sauce | northern California photographer
Remember a few weeks ago when I posted some still life pictures with blueberries and linens? And, then there was the post about the sour dough starter? Well, I've put them together in a most delicious way. Oh! And don't forget the lilacs I talked about a couple of days ago, too. Sourdough pancakes. Blueberry sauce. Lilacs on the table. Winner!!!
"What's my favorite food besides pancakes? I guess it would be flapjacks, followed closely by hotcakes. After the, crepes... but thick crepes. Y'know, like, pancake-thick."
~ Rob Riggle
What do you think? Do you like the image with the pouring sauce, or where the sauce is sitting on the table?
Blueberry Sauce
Making blueberry sauce is so super simple! Just put the blueberries in a saucepan and add a little water. Cook over the stove until the blueberries soften and the water thickens into a syrup. I like to mash a few of the berries while they are cooking. Easy peasy! You can cook it longer or add more water to adjust the thickness of the sauce. As my friend Karen Burns of Painted Works says, "First we shoot. Then we eat." Seems like a fantastic philosophy to me!
