Cookies for the Holidays

I wonder how making cookies for the holidays became such a strong tradition? Certainly, enjoying sweets with our family has been around for a long time. But, now it seems that we gift our baked goods to one another or even participate in cookie exchanges. Sharing food or a meal together equals love. A gift of food, in this case cookies, is an expression of love and good cheer during the holidays and throughout the year.Do you have some 'must bake' cookies that are a tradition for your family? Do you add new recipes each year? I do a little of each. I just cannot let those tried-and-true cookies go. And, there are always new ones to try. But, it is beginning to get to the point that some eliminations must be made. How do you decide?Enjoy baking and gifting your holiday treats this season and during every part of the year.
