Look Back

Do you ever feel like your photography skills are not really progressing like you want them to? I think so many of us feel that way with whatever the new skill is that we are learning. So, sometimes I like to take a look back at my work to search for any improvements and differences. 

This post is from four years ago when I belonged to a blog circle called "...and then we snapped". It was a group of people who were shooting a 365 project. That's shooting everyday of the year and selecting the best of the day. We then posted our images for each day of the week and a little bit about them. Perhaps if you've been following me awhile, you remember that blog circle. In fact, you can see the numbers of the images in the lower right corner.

Whatever skill you are learning, I encourage you to take a look back at your work and really critique it. Notice how your images have changed... or not. More than likely, you will see just how much you have improved!

Heavenly Bamboo Macro  

These old barns are becoming a bit rare as they age and deteriorate, being replaced by metal ones or not at all.

Snow geese were circling in this gorgeous morning sky preparing to land in the flooded field.

This entire orchard is bare except for a few pieces of fruit that were too immature at harvest time.  Click on Pears to see how I'm shooting pears recently.

Much needed rain has been very welcomed.  It was sort of silly that we were so excited to see these puddles.

It is no secret that I (along with many other photographers) love shooting in fog.  

The CA state Capitol just before sunrise.  I only wish the Christmas tree lights would have been on.

Be sure to take the time to look back over your photography journey. I think you'll be pleased to see just how much your skills have grown.
