Nighttime Photography in Pinnacles National Park
The Milky Way season is winding down for a few months here in the northern hemisphere, so when Julia asked if I wanted to join her for some nighttime photography in Pinnacles National Park, I jumped at the chance. We had planned to photograph the night sky on a Saturday evening. Because I'd never been to Pinnacles before, I decided to make it into a camping trip and invited a friend to meet me there for a few days of camping in the park.
Nighttime Photography
The sky was clear and we had wonderful conditions for astrophotography. We hiked in about a mile to the Bear Gulch Reservoir, explored a few compositions, and waited for night to arrive. I managed a few images of the Milky Way both the core and the tail, as well as star trails, and some reflections in the reservoir. All in all, it was a most successful night.
