Many Faces of Oxbow Bend | northern California landscape photographer
From blue hour through sunrise and into the morning glow, Oxbow Bend put on quite a show for us. During Magic in the Tetons, a women's workshop retreat, presented by landscape photographer Kristen Ryan, we covered a lot of ground in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. One of my favorite locations was Oxbow Bend. To be sure, it's a popular, iconic (crowded) location in the Grand Tetons National Park. With good reason. But we arrived EARLY after photographing stars at another location just prior to this. So we lined up along the river's edge and began photographing more stars, working on compositions, and enjoying the magic of sunrise while other photographers arrived.
"How glorious a greeting the sun gives the mountains! To behold this alone is worth the pains of any excursion a thousand times over.”
