Photographing Shorebirds on the California Coast | Northern California Fine Art Photographer
One early, foggy morning before anyone else was up, I decided to go down to the beach to enjoy the environment and take a couple of landscape photos just to document being there. Coffee, beach chair, and camera in hand, I headed over the dune toward the waters’ edge. That's when I knew I'd be photographing shorebirds!
Visiting the Town of Mendocino in northern California
When first visiting the little northern California town of Mendocino, one gets the feeling that there is something just a little bit different and special about this community. The buildings are old, but well kept. Some people say it reminds them of an old east coast village yet with a personality all its own. It's a perfect place to take a leisurely walk, peer into the windows of the shops, and visit the variety of restaurants there. It's also the perfect place to view the rocky cliffs or walk along the sandy beaches of northern California. Your senses are not bombarded with commercial hooks to pull you in, but rather a quaint invitation to explore and enjoy.
