Recently I spent a week on the Oregon coast for a workshop on photographing seascapes. I jumped at the chance to attend this workshop presented by Candace Dyer and Hillary Younger. I had arrived a day early just to soak up some of that delightful Oregon coast before our workshop actually got started. And, I must say, I was not disappointed. On my first evening there I explored Cannon Beach and experienced a very foggy view. I first saw images of this area a few years ago. But I knew immediately that it would be a place I would definitely visit. It just fascinated me.
I confess, I was a little disappointed in the fog when I arrived. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE fog. But, this was not quite what I had in mind. I walked around a bit, took a few photos, and then headed back to the town where we were staying to enjoy some very yummy clam chowder.

Several days later, Cannon Beach was the destination for a shoot during our workshop. However, this time we arrived in the morning. As in the dark of morning. After a drive and a walk down to the beach, my first image was taken at 5:02 am. Landscape photography is not for anyone who likes to sleep in, I'm thinking. Fortunately for me, I'm a morning person. That ever-changing light made for some beautiful views!
