Viewpoints: My Ecola State Park View | northern California photographer
Recently I spent a week on the Oregon coast for a workshop on photographing seascapes. Since I had visited (and LOVED) the Oregon coast landscape last year, I jumped at the chance to attend this workshop presented by Candace Dyer and Hillary Younger. The little town of Rockaway Beach was our first 'base' from which we photographed for several days. I had arrived a day early just to soak up some of that delightful Oregon beach view. And, I must say, I was not disappointed. On our first official day of the workshop, we headed to Ecola State Park along the northern Oregon coast. We had scouted the area earlier in the day. So, it was decided that we'd try for a view shot from the cliff before heading down to the beach at sunset. You'll hear me say it over and over. The Oregon coast did not disappoint.
We were guided by our workshop leaders who are amazing photographers and so generous with their knowledge of photographing the beach. I can really see how my images have improved as the week went on. Candace and Hilary are planning another Oregon coast workshop in May of 2018. Watch for the announcement and do not hesitate to sign up! You'll read more about this workshop in an upcoming blog post.
Ecola State Park, Oregon
These first two images are from overlook. I was really zoomed in so it is hard to tell just how far (and high) I was from this beautiful scene.
We had just arrived on the beach when I took these.
Now the sun was much lower in the sky and more clouds had rolled in.
Please continue our Viewpoints blog circle with the beautiful imagery of Kathy Roberts. I understand it's rhododendron season in Kathy's neck of the woods!
