Comfort and Gratitude | northern California fine art photographer
With Thanksgiving this Thursday, it seems appropriate to acknowledge the abundance of my life. And, with it, the comfort that results. Yet, why isn't every day a day to remember the comfort and gratitude for the abundance we have? Actually, it is. Each day I attempt to be grateful for even the smallest (which are sometimes the biggest) things. My grandmother used to say, "Nothing is so bad, but what it couldn't be worse." Which is a very round about way of saying things could be worse. But when you really think about it, her words are so true. It sort of reminds me of Pollyanna playing the 'Glad Game' in which she looks for the best in the worst situations. So, on this week/month of Thanksgiving, I wish you comfort and gratitude in every possible thing. But most especially, the little everyday things.
"Cultivate the habit of being grateful for every good thing that comes to you, and to give thanks continuously. And because all things have contributed to your advancement, you should include all things in your gratitude.”
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
