Growing Heirloom Flowers | Sacramento still life photographer
It's that time of year when gardens and planting occupy the thoughts of so many of us. I am a complete amateur when it comes to gardening. But I still love it! A genre of gardening I had never really focussed on before is growing heirloom flowers. But when I was asked to photograph them for a book by Chris McLaughlin, Laughing Crow Flower and Fiber Farm, my interest peeked.Last summer I worked on this project and visited several gardens in the process. I even visited Chris's flower farm in order to capture many of the flowers that are highlighted in the book. She has included a few DIY projects using the heirloom flowers as well. It was such a pleasure collaborating with Chris on this book of hers. I cannot wait to get my hands on it and incorporate some of her wisdom in my gardening.Growing Heirloom Flowers by Chris McLaughlin, Photography by Nadeen Flynn, will be out in May, but you can pre-order Chris's book on Amazon now! Happy gardening to you all!
