Photographing Waterfalls in the Northern California Landscape
The first one-day Waterfalls Workshop in Northern California by Nadeen Flynn Photography was held last March. The attendees were met with the sweet smell of pine and an overcast sky which was perfect for the early morning photography session. I couldn’t help but breathe deeply as the workshop got underway in this gorgeous Northern California forest. With multiple opportunities for various compositions, the group began their exploration of the area while walking the loop trail along the bubbling stream around the area of the State park.
The spring fed falls do not disappoint. There are many opportunities for low angle images right at the water’s edge or for compositions from higher up along the trail or overlooking the falls at the beginning of the loop trail from the parking lot. There is a plethora of opportunies for an assortment of compositions for photographing waterfalls
Attendees Shooting
After spending a couple of hours at the first photography-rich location, it was time to move on to other waterfall and cascade opportunities. Driving a short distance, we arrived at the second, third, and last locations for photographing waterfalls on this day. Of course we took advantage of the rushing water of the streams and rivers to capture cascades along the way as well.
It was a full day of landscape photography rich in waterfalls and cascades as well as beautiful natural surroundings and that lovely smell of fresh pine. The hikes were easy and beautiful. With our photography buckets full of images from the day, it was time to grab a late lunch and spend some time around the table discussing the day and connecting with one another. A day spent in nature is always a good day! If it includes photographing waterfalls, then it is even better!
The fall run of this one-day workshop will be held October 22, 2022. Mark your calendars now! Registration will be opening July 16, 2022 for this amazing fall color waterfalls workshop! Find out more at the link below.
