Welcome to Project 365, 2022, Week 22! This week included images from my yard including the rose-breasted grosbeak at the feeder using my Sigma 150-600mm lens and two images from the garden using the Lensbaby Sweet 35 with a 12mm extension tube.
Five Tips for Beating the Photography Doldrums | Northern California Photographer
You've been there. When you were first bitten by the photography bug, you were obsessed. Everything involved photography. You couldn't image being stuck in the 'photography doldrums'. Learning everything you could about photography was your primary goal. You saw the world differently. The way the light fell on your child's face did not go unnoticed by you. You saw the way the clouds formed allowing the natural light to penetrate just so. You noticed the array of colors in the moss on the rocks.

The garden and yard were great sources for subject matter for Project 365, 2022, Week 21. Macro and long lenses to photograph flowers, insects, and birds.
Wild Horses in the Desert
When my friend, Maria, invited me last winter to go with her to photograph the wild horses in the desert of Nevada, I absolutely said, “YES!”. I have admired Maria’s work for a long time. She is a lover of horses and fine art photography so she executes her images with amazing creativity and heart. It is easy to see why her work has received so many accolades and hangs on the walls of serious collectors. It was a privilege for me to tag along.
Project 365, 2022, Week 20
Project 365, 2022, Week 20 included so many opportunities in multiple genres of photography. Most were right in my yard. I’ve dusted off my macro lens and worked intentionally with certain concepts in macro. Of course, flowers come to mind first. The intricacies of the flower blossoms just come to life with a macro lens. I’ve been taking a class on macro from Jenny W. It’s been a good refresher for me and I always enjoy seeing others’ work.
