Glacier Bay NP, Alaska - Landscapes & Wildlife | Day 4

Day 4 of our Glacier Bay NP trip was again full of wildlife and landscapes, and a most amazing glacier. The David B traveled along the Muir Inlet to the Reid Inlet passing mountains, icebergs, whales, assorted birds, sea otters, and arriving at Reid Glacier. We photographed from the boat, the skiff, and on land. There was beautiful scenery every direction we looked!

As we traveled along the inlet, we spotted this bear on the coastline. She investigated something on the beach, then promptly laid down in the water for a bit. A short time later, up she got and headed back into the brush.

The steep inlet walls were covered in moss, bushes, and trees with plenty of the rocky hillside showing through.

The white heads of the bald eagles stood out plainly against the textured hillsides of rocks and trees.

We often spotted whale flukes and spouts as we traveled along the inlets each day.

This big girl was scrapping the rocks of their barnacles for a delicious meal.

The assorted cool hues of the glacial waters were always intriguing and crystal clear.

As we left the glacier, Mother Nature put on a little light show for us.

Then it was back to the David B for dinner of black cod, coconut polenta, cabbage, and, warm, freshly made sour dough french bread. Delicious!
