Project 365, 2022, Week 28

Glacier Bay National Park

Project 365, 2022, Week 28 continued with my trip to Glacier Bay, Alaska. (Somehow, the grid for last week included some of these images, but this is correct for Week 28.)

There was a black bear on the beach scraping the rocks for barnacles. At least, that is what it looked like. We did not get close enough to find out for sure! Fortunately, she went about her business and all but ignored us. You can see more of her in the upcoming blog post for Day 4.

We visited Marjorie Glacier and Lampbough Glacier. Both were equally amazing in their own way. Again, you’ll hear more about these glaciers in an upcoming blog posts.

Whales were a daily sight! This one was spotted in the Sitakaday Narrows before our way back to Juneau. The following day, we arrived in Juneau, said out goodbyes to the group, and a few of us visited the Mendenhal Glacier complimented by Fire Weed before having lunch at the Sandbar & Grill.

Sadly, the following day, I said goodby to Alaska with this view from the plane as we left Juneau headed for Seattle.

Finally, back home now, and photographing my not-quite-ready tomatoes.
