Project 365, 2022, Week 18 | Landscapes and Wildlife
What an amazing week this was! I had the opportunity to travel to Oregon and Washington for a special, new-to-me photography excursion. If you have followed this blog then you know I mainly photograph landscapes and still life. I have dabbled in wildlife a bit with mostly shooting wild birds, water fowl, and occasionally other small wildlife. But, this trip involved photographing foxes and their baby kits. I was thrilled when my friend, Amy of Amy Ames Photography, invited me along on this most amazing adventure.
My trip began with a roadtrip to visit and stay with friends with whom I hadn’t seen in awhile. I stopped long the way to photograph a small waterfall that is often dry during the summer months. Springtime was the perfect time to capture the flow of Hedge Creek Falls. On my way again, it was a long journey to my destination. Grateful to be out of the car and in the company of friends, we enjoyed good food, lots of laughs and stories which always make these visits too short. With promises of returning soon, I was on my way to my ultimate destination. The days were full of photographing the foxes and other wildlife while spending time in nature. I’ll be posting a more complete story and photos of that soon.
Week 18
Waterfalls and Wildlife
After a full few days of photographing wildlife, I was back on the road headed home. But not before I stopped to photograph one more of the many waterfalls in Oregon. It was pouring down rain, but that didn’t stop me. Let me be honest. I didn’t stay out in that downpour long. I got a few photos and then I was back on my way.
When I arrived home, the farmer across the road was baling hay with his round-baler. It’s the perfect scene and ending to the week to say “I’m home now”.
You can see more of my Project 365 work at Weeks 10, 11, and 12 or Daily Shooting in Week 8.
